Recapping Annie B's Shower

I probably should've taken more pictures before the party got started so I wouldn't have cucumber sandwich crumbs on my shirt, but what are you going to do.

Chalk it up to a sign that I had a great time and ate really good. AND I'd like to take a moment to recognize the beard tan line on Tanner's face - he shaved for the first time in over two months just moments before the shower. We were all thrilled.

Our family friend Danielle offered to throw us a shower for the church crowd and Tanner's close family at her gorgeous Marshallberg home, and every moment since has been very secretive. My mother in law and aunt have been hard at work carefully crafting every single decoration, my mom showed up early that morning to do all the florals, grandma cooked a whole mess, and (possibly the most important part) Danielle had these AMAZING favors made by Southern Sugar in Raleigh. 

I was lucky enough to snag a floral arrangement to take home with me, and they gifted me with this adorable stacked pumpkin arrangement, which I know Tanner is just SO excited to lug up and down from the attic every fall. It's so cute!

Don't Tanner and I kind of look alike as babies? Don't worry, I did plenty of digging into our family lineage, just to be sure (even though our families are from totally different places.) But they say you should marry someone with similar bone structure in order to make pretty babies. You're welcome, Annie B.

I've got my work cut out for me by way of thank you cards, because WOW did we get spoiled. There isn't a thing left in this world that our little girl needs, with the exception of a bassinet for our bedroom until she's ready to transition into her big girl room with her own crib. Who knows when that will be!

I spent so much time researching everything on my baby registry to make sure I didn't get anything we didn't need, and that everything we chose was up to date on safety specifications and ratings. It's only been hours, but I've already unpacked everything except our infant carseat and stroller. I think I'll let Tanner take the lead on that one. But I can't wait to see it in action! It's a bassinet style stroller, and so cute, I could die.

Ethan was our valet and butler, and apparently, Vana White-style gift opener. 

Me, absolutely LOSING my mind over a pair of monogrammed bloomers. Between these and the cookies, this was the first time I had ever seen her monogram, and I've got to say, it's probably the best ever.

It may not be the easiest to see, but Tanner's little cousins gave us handmade cards. This one says "Happy Baby Shower!"

I'm tired, lucky, and I've got a belly full. I'm so thankful for all the women who made this day happen. I even met some of them for the first time today! It's so great to know how very loved Tanner is (what's not to love?) and that Annie Bryant is already so loved just by virtue of being ours. Only 11 weeks until she's here, and that completely blows my mind every time.
